We posted their last record "The Thirst" and ya know when you've got a good thing going you repeat it. This is a mellow house tune that's relaxing and breezy to listen to. Eric says about the tune, “'Take This Time’ speaks directly to the reality that individual closed mindedness is literally costing human lives on a consistent basis. If people could open their minds and hearts more, a much better world is possible. Currently we seem stuck in cycles of hatred and otherness. The song is imbued with a deep sadness around this fact, and a more general poignancy around missed opportunities and unrealized potential,” Incredible truths that we can't promote and re-iterate enough, and oh by the way also pairs perfectly with fantastic music. Teaming up with classically trained multi-instrumentalist Zhao the two have delivered a sure fire dance floor heater in "The Thirst." "Give me more of your love" rings out the soulful vocals ahead of bumping bass, energetic piano and guitar. The bell like synth melodies breathe life into the record putting a distinctively party vibe to the tune. The breakdown 2 minutes in is full of layers of hype male and female vocals that add a major accent to the tune as it builds into the final dance chorus that pushes into overtime! This is definitely one of the most fun songs I've heard from Eric up to now, and is one that most assuredly deserves your attention. Music, Original MixCommentNow that all the Coachella buzz and all the subsequent Palms Springs and LA parties have been laid to rest, I'm slowly trying to get back to the slog or normalcy. Which certainly isn't easy, but tracks like Eric Sharp's "A Little More" definitely help. This track grooves hard yet still manages to remain upbeat, soothing and even relaxed. Certainly due to the incredible trumpet line from Capital Cities' Spencer Ludwig and the graceful vocals of Shandra Dixon. According to Eric the record "represents the eternal wellspring of hope that is around every corner if we look for it. It celebrates the joy and release that music and dancing can inspire in us all." Music is certainly that, and while I may be looking for a little extra reserve of joy to help get me through this week, it's records like "A Little More" that totally hit the spot. We had a fantastic time chattin' it up and talking music one sunny Sunday afternoon when we were on a boat out in the Pacific hanging with some friends. Afterwards he sent me this tune and I was super excited to throw some support behind it. Featuring the breathtaking vocals of Gavin Turek, Eric has crafted an superbly smooth love house ballad that wraps you up in a warm embrace of pensive synths and lounge piano.
